Covid-19 Related Questions
Due to financial hardships and the loss of basketball opportunity caused by Covid-19, including, but not limited to, the loss of the AAU season, exposure events, college visits, ect., Rocktop Academy is increasing the amount of financial aid offered to athletes during the 2020-2021 season. Even during a pandemic, our mission remains intact, to help our athletes play at the college level. We anticipate the 2020-2021 season to go on as planned, with our first practice beginning October 5, 2020.
Rocktop Academy is in a unique position to benefit our athletes during this global pandemic. As an independent, we are able to play prep schools, junior colleges, and independent high schools without a governing body cancelling games and/or events. We outsource our housing and gym, meaning we are not attached to any academic situation that would limit our athletes from room and board and/or gym access. If athletes decide to take classes we offer a number of online options. Finally, as a continuous effort to grow as a program, we have invested in streaming and increased our ability contact college coaches via text, email, and on social media.

If social distancing continues, will it affect your program?
No, due to the following reasons:
- Rocktop Academy outsources all education, housing, and gym access
- Our athletes will have the ability to take academic classes online if needed
- Our athletes socialize with each other, we do not have other students that our players will interact with during their tenure at Rocktop
- We do not over recruit, there will never be an abundance of athletes sharing a basket, ball, and/or bedroom
- We do not play in front of large crowds – most spectators during the prep season are parents and coaches
- We stream and post our games online on our Rocktop Live page – We encourage spectators to engage with the Rocktop Live program in the safety of their homes and/or office
- Athletes will be required to wear masks when out in the public
- Hand Sanitizer will be available at the gyms we play at

Yes, as long as those programs continue to exist, we plan on continuing our relationship with them. We may have to adjust when and where we play them depending on location.
What if Covid-19 causes another quarantine?
Rocktop Academy is a pay by month program, only the deposit is nonrefundable. Any month that players will be quarantined will be prorated and discussed with athletes and financial guarantors. Players will only be forced to go home if quarantine continues for an extended period of time.
How will athletes receive college exposure?
At Rocktop, our competitive advantage is having access to college coaches. We have the contact information of every college program in the country. Our coaches have personal relationships with college coaches at the DI, DII, DIII, JUCO, and NAIA level. Our marketing team knows how to place players in a position to be recruited. If our players perform against other college level players, they have a high chance at playing college basketball.
How much financial aid do you offer?
Financial aid packages vary and will be offered to athletes in the order in which they pay their deposit and secure their roster spot. After application is filed and the athletes completes an over-the-phone interview with a coach, a contract will be sent out with the financial aid offer applied. Athletes will have 10 days to begin paying the deposit to secure price of the contract.
